GHRP-2 at a glance
A fast read for beginners, with evidence strength, route context, safety depth, and community activity surfaced before the deeper sections.
GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2) is a synthetic hexapeptide and potent ghrelin receptor agonist. Developed as an improvement on GHRP-6, it produces comparable GH pulse amplitude with less pronounced appetite stimulation, making it a more practical option for daily protocols where caloric control is important.
GHRP-2 acts synergistically with GHRH analogs (such as CJC-1295 or Mod-GRF) - the combination of a GHRH analog and GHRP-2 produces GH pulses several times larger than either agent alone, reflecting the two distinct pituitary receptor populations involved. This synergy is widely exploited in performance and anti-aging protocols.
At standard doses, GHRP-2 produces modest elevations in cortisol and prolactin, less pronounced than hexarelin but more than ipamorelin. Like all ghrelin mimetics, it activates GHS-R1a receptors throughout the body, including in cardiac tissue, where it may confer cardioprotective effects similar to those documented for hexarelin.
